BIANEYE Privacy Policy & Data Disclaimer

Last Updated: March 2, 2026  |  Effective Immediately

⚠️ Important Notice

BIANEYE is an educational technology demonstration. It is not a certified intelligence product, law enforcement tool, or government surveillance system. BIANEYE does not conduct surveillance — it aggregates and displays publicly available, open-source data feeds that are freely accessible to anyone on the internet.

1. What BIANEYE Is

BIANEYE is a web-based open-source intelligence (OSINT) dashboard that:

  • Displays publicly available CCTV camera feeds from government traffic agencies
  • Shows publicly broadcast ADS-B aircraft transponder data
  • Visualizes publicly published earthquake, weather, and natural disaster data
  • Aggregates publicly available news and conflict event data
  • Renders this information on interactive maps and a 3D globe

🔑 Key Point: Every single data source used by BIANEYE is publicly available, free, and accessible to anyone without authentication. BIANEYE does not access any private, classified, or restricted data.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

BIANEYE does not collect, store, transmit, or process any of the following:

  • Personal information — no names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses
  • Account data — there are no user accounts, logins, or registrations
  • Location data — we do not track your physical location
  • Usage analytics — no tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or telemetry
  • Cookies — BIANEYE does not set tracking cookies (only a localStorage flag to remember you accepted the disclaimer)
  • IP addresses — we do not log or store your IP address
  • Device fingerprints — no device identification or fingerprinting

🔒 Zero Data Collection: BIANEYE is a static website hosted on GitHub Pages. There is no backend server, no database, and no data collection infrastructure. All processing happens entirely in your browser.

3. Browser Local Storage

BIANEYE uses your browser's localStorage (not cookies) to store minimal preferences locally on your device:

Key Purpose Contains Personal Data?
bianeye_web_disclaimer Remembers that you accepted the entry disclaimer No
bianeye_theme Your light/dark theme preference No

You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for biantech.org. No data is sent to any server.

4. Third-Party Data Sources

BIANEYE fetches data directly from the following public APIs. When you use BIANEYE, your browser makes direct requests to these services. BIAN does not proxy, intercept, or log these requests.

Source Data Type Provider
USGS Earthquake API Seismic events U.S. Geological Survey (US Gov)
NASA EONET Natural disaster events NASA (US Gov)
GDELT Project Global news & conflict events GDELT (Academic/Research)
ADS-B Exchange / OpenSky Aircraft positions (publicly broadcast) Community / OpenSky Network
disease.sh Global health statistics Open-source community project
Open-Meteo Weather data Open-Meteo (Open-source)
data.gov.sg Singapore traffic camera images Singapore Government
TfL (Transport for London) London JamCam traffic images UK Government / TfL
WSDOT Washington State traffic cameras Washington State DOT (US Gov)
ReliefWeb Humanitarian alerts UN OCHA
RestCountries Country metadata Open-source community project
Wikipedia API Location context articles Wikimedia Foundation
CesiumJS / Bing Maps 3D globe imagery & terrain Cesium / Microsoft
OpenStreetMap / Leaflet 2D map tiles OpenStreetMap Foundation

Each of these services has its own privacy policy and terms of use. When your browser requests data from these services, their servers may log your IP address according to their own policies. BIAN has no control over this and does not receive this information.

⚠️ Note: By using BIANEYE, you acknowledge that your browser will make direct HTTP requests to the third-party APIs listed above. These third parties may log your IP address per their own privacy policies.

5. CCTV Camera Feeds

BIANEYE displays traffic camera images from government transportation agencies. These are important facts about this feature:

  • All cameras are government-operated: These are public traffic monitoring cameras operated by government transportation departments (Singapore LTA, UK TfL, Washington State DOT)
  • All feeds are publicly available: Every camera feed displayed is accessible via official government open data APIs that are published for public use
  • BIANEYE does not operate any cameras: We do not own, control, or operate any surveillance cameras
  • No recording or storage: BIANEYE does not record, save, archive, or store any camera images. Images are fetched live and displayed temporarily in your browser
  • No facial recognition: BIANEYE does not perform any facial recognition, person identification, vehicle tracking, or any form of individual identification
  • No enhancement or analysis of individuals: Camera images are displayed as-is from government sources. No AI processing is applied to identify or track individuals

📷 Camera Data Flow: Government API → Your Browser → Screen display. That's it. No data passes through BIAN servers, no images are stored anywhere.

6. Aircraft Tracking Data

BIANEYE displays aircraft positions using publicly broadcast ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) transponder signals:

  • ADS-B is a public broadcast: Aircraft transmit their position on the 1090 MHz frequency, which is unencrypted and legally receivable by anyone with appropriate equipment
  • Data is aggregated by community networks: Services like ADS-B Exchange and OpenSky Network aggregate these public signals
  • Military aircraft filtering is based on publicly known transponder codes: No classified or restricted data is used
  • No tracking of individuals: Aircraft data shows commercial flights and public transponder data — it does not identify passengers or crew

7. What BIANEYE Does NOT Do

To be absolutely clear, BIANEYE does not:

  • Conduct surveillance on any individual, group, or organization
  • Access any private, classified, or restricted data sources
  • Perform facial recognition or biometric analysis
  • Track, identify, or profile any person
  • Record, store, or archive any surveillance footage
  • Intercept communications or network traffic
  • Hack, scrape, or illegally access any system
  • Provide intelligence products to any government, military, or law enforcement agency
  • Sell, share, or distribute any data to any third party
  • Use any paid, restricted, or authentication-required APIs

8. Intended Use & Restrictions

BIANEYE is intended for:

  • Educational purposes: Learning about open-source intelligence, geospatial analysis, and data visualization
  • Technology demonstration: Showcasing what can be built with free, public APIs and modern web technologies
  • Situational awareness: General awareness of publicly available global events (earthquakes, weather, etc.)

9. Accuracy & Reliability Disclaimer

BIANEYE aggregates data from multiple third-party sources. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any data displayed.

  • Camera feeds may be offline, delayed, or show outdated images
  • Aircraft positions may be delayed, inaccurate, or incomplete
  • Earthquake magnitudes and locations are preliminary estimates from USGS
  • Threat analysis scores are algorithmic estimates, not professional assessments
  • GDELT conflict data is based on automated news processing and may contain errors
  • Data feeds may be interrupted, rate-limited, or discontinued by providers at any time

⚠️ Do NOT rely on BIANEYE for safety-critical decisions. For emergencies, contact local emergency services. For weather warnings, use official meteorological services. For earthquake alerts, use official geological survey notifications.

  • Any claim that your use of BIANEYE caused damage to a third party

12. Children's Privacy

BIANEYE does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age. Since BIANEYE collects zero personal data and requires no registration, there is no data to protect. However, parental guidance is recommended as BIANEYE displays real-world events including conflict data and natural disasters.
